A collaborative dialogue between all of our practices led to the creation of a pavilion for Toby Square. The form is an open circular structure through which people enter, move through, or stay inside, depending on specific use or need. The form is also an attempt to establish a particular connection with the museum. It could be understood as a kind of parenthesis where everything fits within its opening, in addition to the museum’s activities, in everyday life; it could be skating, relaxation, or a visit to the museum and the return home. It is appealing not only because of its form but also because of the visible materiality that composes the internal surfaces and walls, contrasting with the exterior surfaces that appear flat, smooth, and white.
