The project is governed by a wall that closes you against noise and visual contamination and allows you to open an esplanade in front of the main façade. In the project, this esplanade is a large roof that directs the user immediately toward the museum. In the same way, it is a space for recreation and transition. On the other hand, the new volume emphasizes its materiality, guided by the composition of the pre-existing volume’s façade, and respects both its height and shape. The third level exceeds the height of the original construction only to blend into the landscape like a clear mirror of the façade, avoiding competing with the construction to which it refers. One of the most important aspects of the project is the place of emptiness, the non-museum.
